Locate South Georgia Report Highlights Major Momentum

April 22, 2025

Big news came out of Atlanta this month as Jana Dyke, President & CEO of the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission (ADEDC), joined fellow regional leaders to present the 2024 Locate South Georgia Annual Report — a powerful showcase of collaboration, investment, and job creation across South Georgia.

The report highlighted a remarkable $532 million in new capital investments and the creation of 1,319 new jobs across Locate South Georgia’s 23-county region. These results are a direct reflection of the unified efforts of economic development professionals, public officials, and private partners working together to drive growth in rural and regional communities.

Albany-Dougherty County played a key role in this success story, with major projects and strategic expansions contributing to the region's strong performance. From advanced manufacturing to logistics and workforce development, the numbers reinforce what we already know: Southwest Georgia is open for business — and thriving.

As part of the Locate South Georgia delegation, Jana Dyke presented alongside partners from across the region to a room full of stakeholders, including representatives from the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Power, Georgia EMC, and Electric Cities of Georgia. These presentations not only celebrated the progress made, but also reinforced the continued importance of regional collaboration in bringing transformative opportunities to our communities.

At ADEDC, we’re proud to be part of a team that’s putting Southwest Georgia on the map — and we’re just getting started.
