Jana Dyke Takes the Helm + Leads with Vision at Successful 2025 SEDC Site Selection Summit in Atlanta
May 1, 2025

The 2025 American South Site Selection Summit, hosted by the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC), recently wrapped up in Atlanta — and by all measures, it was a tremendous success. Held at the Intercontinental Atlanta Buckhead, the event welcomed over 500 economic developers, site selection consultants, and business leaders from across the South for three days of high-impact learning and connection.
A proud moment for the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission (ADEDC) came as our President & CEO, Jana Dyke, officially stepped into her new role as Board Chair of SEDC. Her appointment marks a significant milestone not only for our organization but also for Southwest Georgia’s growing influence in regional economic development.
The summit featured a robust agenda of expert panels and forward-thinking discussions, covering everything from global site selection trends and reshoring strategies to the role of AI and workforce development in shaping the future of industry. One of the standout moments included a keynote address from Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp, who spoke to the crowd about the state’s continued commitment to pro-business policies, workforce readiness, and long-term infrastructure investments that are driving Georgia's growth and competitiveness on a global stage.
Jana’s leadership was felt throughout the event — whether moderating conversations, representing our region during networking opportunities, or helping set the tone for where the South is headed in terms of innovation, investment, and inclusive growth. As Board Chair, she will continue to help guide the strategic vision of SEDC while advocating for communities like Albany that are ready to compete on a global scale.
We are proud to have been represented by such strong leadership on such an important stage, and we look forward to putting the momentum from this summit into action here at home.
