May 16, 2025

Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission (ADEDC) proudly joined the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce for the 2025 Washington D.C. Fly-In—the largest delegation in the event’s history.
The annual Fly-In brings together business and civic leaders from Southwest Georgia to engage with federal officials, advocate for regional priorities, and foster relationships that drive long-term economic success. This year’s delegation participated in a series of high-level meetings with key stakeholders, including:
-
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce
-
Congressman Sanford Bishop
-
Congressman Austin Scott
-
Senator Jon Ossoff
-
Senator Raphael Warnock’s team
-
Leadership from the U.S. Marine Corps
These discussions focused on advancing policies that support workforce development, infrastructure investment, industry expansion, and economic resilience across the region.
Representing ADEDC were Chris Hatcher, Chair of the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission and CEO of Commodore Conyers College and Career Academy (4C Academy), and Matt Reed, Chair of the Albany-Dougherty Payroll Development Authority (PDA) and Interim CEO of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce. Both Hatcher and Reed played key roles in championing Southwest Georgia’s strengths, opportunities, and strategic needs during the delegation’s time in Washington.
“This Fly-In is about more than just meetings—it’s about building meaningful partnerships and ensuring that the voice of Albany-Dougherty County is heard on the national stage,” said Jana Dyke, President & CEO of ADEDC. “We’re grateful for the strong leadership of Chris and Matt, and for the continued collaboration that helps move our region forward.”
As ADEDC continues its mission to attract investment, retain and grow industry, and strengthen workforce pipelines, events like the Washington D.C. Fly-In are critical to sustaining momentum and advocating for the region’s future.
