Base tenant Marine Corps Logistics Command operates one of two Marine Depot Maintenance Command headquarters in the U.S., Marine Corps Production Plant Albany, which is where ground combat weapon systems are re-manufactured by skilled artisans and inventoried to re-enter the war theatre.
MCLB Albany is recognized as one of the most efficient and innovative installations in the Department of Defense.

Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany is an economic driver in Albany-Dougherty County with an estimated annual economic impact of $1.7 billion and a workforce of more than 4,000 civilian-Marines, active-duty military, and contractors.
Along with the workforce at MCLB Albany comes the families that stand beside them. According to the US Department of Labor Women’s Bureau, 89% of military spouses have some college education, with 30% holding a four-year degree and 15% holding an advanced degree, making these military spouses a valuable component to the local labor pool.
