Albany, Ga. – Procter & Gamble today announced the addition of an estimated 30 new technician jobs at the Albany manufacturing plant.

The announcement comes on the heels of another recent hiring phase, which brought nearly 40 new employees to the plant. The estimated 30 new associates brings P&G Albany to an approximate total of 70 announced new jobs within the last year.

“We are thrilled to hire more employees to support our increased production at the P&G Albany Plant. The employees we hired earlier this year are off to an outstanding start and we look forward to hiring more great talent from Albany and Dougherty County,” said P&G Albany Plant Manager Werhner Washington.

P&G Albany, producer of Bounty paper towels and Charmin toilet tissue – both billion-dollar brands for the company, has a current employee total of nearly 700, making it one of the area’s largest manufacturing employers.

“P&G is a great corporate citizen on both the local and global level,” said Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission President Justin Strickland. “Their continued and expanded presence in Albany speaks to the capability of Albany-Dougherty County to effectively support an industry of this size, as well as to the skill level of our workforce and their ability to execute advanced industrial processes.”

Albany’s P&G plant is the primary supplier of Bounty and Charmin products to the Southeastern United States and Puerto Rico.

Washington said jobs are being added as a result of increased production demand.

The new technician positions will be responsible for maintaining and improving equipment and processes in the production of Bounty and Charmin products.
