Albany, Ga. – The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission (ADEDC) today turned the spotlight toward craft brewery Pretoria Fields Collective as the final feature in its “#MadeInAlbanyGA” campaign.

Pretoria Fields Collective, founded by Albany doctor and beer enthusiast Tripp Morgan, is a collaboration of local farmers and brewers working together to celebrate the agricultural profile of the region through signature craft brews.

The collective conducts operations in four locations – three being farms  located in Dougherty, Lee and Mitchell counties, where crops such as fruits and grains are grown for use in the brewing process – and the other being the public taproom and brewing facility located in downtown Albany.

“Pretoria Fields’ investment in downtown Albany through the development of its taproom and production facility is a major step in the right direction for downtown revitalization,” said Justin Strickland, president of the ADEDC. “We now not only have a great quality of life asset in the heart of downtown, but it also happens to be a manufacturing facility that will produce product to be distributed all over the region, helping to put Albany on the map in an even greater sense.”

Pretoria Fields is currently the only brewery in Southwest Georgia, and the only farmhouse brewery in the state – a distinction characterized by the incorporation of homegrown crops from the collective’s farm and an adherence to traditional brewing methods.

The brewery, opened in December 2017, has so far developed a portfolio of four beer variations which are available at the downtown Albany taproom and at local and regional restaurants and package stores.

The current lineup of brews includes a golden ale, a stout, a gose and an IPA (India Pale Ale).

Pretoria Fields is the final feature in the ADEDC’s #MadeInAlbanyGA campaign, which debuted in September 2017 with a different industry taking the spotlight each month, highlighting the personal story of a company representative and the products they produce. Campaign videos and other materials can be seen on the ADEDC’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages, and on its website,
